Benefits - Authenticity
Authenticity is all about being true to one's self. Doing so leads to greater self-esteem, self-respect and self-love. In turn, this shows itself outwardly as being more compassionate toward others and better able to see others as your equal.
Many find authenticity a challenge, especially in certain social circumstances and relationships, and some may think they are being true to themselves when they are reacting to others.
So how can therapy help you to be more true to yourself?
The simplest answer is that it enables you to identify who you are and who you are not. By shedding old hurts and old habits, what's left is a more true version of not just who you are now, but who you always have been.
I have personally found Zero Balancing the most powerful therapeutic intervention in helping me to be more true to myself, to show up in the world more authentically no matter what the situation. Whilst I have many ideas as to why this is the case - and I will mention these briefly below - I cannot definitively say I know exactly why. And yet the fact remains. Here are some of the reasons why I think this is the case:
- It strengthens boundaries - helping clients to gain clarity as to who they are, and who they are not
- It helps shed old patterns of behaviour - these old coping mechanisms that no longer serve the client can drop away
- It creates fertile ground for positive change - with old habits or emotions no longer around, there is more space for positive change to happen;
- It brings you home to your true self - there is no room for pretence in Zero Balancing; you are who you are, not who you think you are; it is possible to connect with that true essence of you and amplify it, so you can turn up more authentically in your life.
