Frequently Asked Questions
How long is an appointment?
A typical appointment will last about 50 - 60 minutes. It consists of a brief consultation, a seated evalation of your body and a Zero Balancing session. Half hour appointments are also available on request. What do I need to wear?
You can really wear whatever you want. However, I do politely request that women always wear leggings or tights if they are wearing a skirt or dress that is shorter than knee length. What happens?
We'll talk a bit about your physical health and your emotional wellbeing. We then start the table work, which is initiated with a brief seated evaluation of your body. You then get to lie down face-up and enjoy the Zero Balancing session. The Zero Balancing usually takes place in silence. I have described an appointment in more detail here. What's it like?
You'll experience light touch on your bones and joints - sometimes you may feel very little, and at other times it may hurt in good way. The whole session will flow and you will experience some pauses, too. Every session follows a protocol, so in a sense they are all similar - but ask any one of my clients and they will agree that each session is different. The skill of a Zero Balancer is to meet the person where they are at in the moment and to tune into an unspoken communication with your body. What are the benefits?
Just like every session is different, the benefits are totally individual to the client. That said, benefits can include a reduction in pain or discomfort, a greater sense of wellbeing and reframing of one's personal history. See here for more information. Can you help my symptoms?
My answer to this is neither 'yes' nor 'no'. It is true that some clients have experienced complete relief from their symptoms well beyond the sessions and into their daily lives. It is also true that some clients don't get any or much relief, or the relief is merely temporary. Zero Balancing does not work for a specific outcome - all we can do is work together to encourage them. I'll come onto this in the next question, however, it is worth stating here that it may be worth your while to try Zero Balancing three times in fairly quick succession. Feel free to call me if you think Zero Balancing could work for you. If it doesn't work for you, I'd be happy to refer you to another therapist. Please see the contraindications list below in case your existing symptoms mean I cannot give you a Zero Balancing session. How many sessions to do you recommend?
Generally speaking, I would suggest a session every 4 - 8 weeks for those who want support with life's challenges or to maintain their good health. Those undertaking what could be described as a more intense personal work - clearing of past traumas, realigning with who they really are, or even realigning with all that is (God, the Universe, Life, etc.) - then I would suggest every 2 - 4 weeks as a minimum. I am increasingly finding that once a week is what some clients prefer, ensuring consistent progress. If we don't make any headway after three sessions, I may recommend another therapist who may be more suited. Do you treat children?
Younger clients (15 years old or less) are required to have parent/guardian consent. Parents/guardians are welcome to sit in on the sessions, although it is not a requirement. Sessions with young clients tend to be shorter in length due to their vitality and their bone structure. Is there anyone you cannot treat? (Contraindications)
Zero Balancing is a safe and gentle therapy. There are, however, some conditions that I cannot work with, including:
If in doubt, give me a call. Who is it useful for?
I haven't yet come across a client who hasn't benefited in some way or another. We all have challenges in our lives and experience stresses that can benefit from Zero Balancing. Many also have small aches and pains which they'd like to have addressed. My experience shows me that it is particularly helpful for individuals who suffer from persistent anxiety and stress, those who are actively working with their bodies (dancers, yogis, martial artists, etc.) and those who are working on themselves in some way or another - spiritual seekers, those engaged in working through their pasts, those seeking authenticity and a desire to connect with who they truly are. How much does it cost?
An hour's appointment costs £50 and an a half hour appointment costs £28. I am also currently offering 3 sessions for the price of £135 (saving you £15) - pay the full price on the first session and use the remaining two sessions within 6 months. Once or twice a year I advertise special offers through my mailing list. Subscribe at the bottom of this page if you'd like to receive these. Can I buy a session, or a series of sessions, as a gift?
Yes, absolutely. Online gift cards are available to purchase here via SumUp - my card payment provider. Payment options include £50 for one full session or £135 for three sessions (a saving of £15). For those who prefer to send a real gift card, I am pleased to inform you that these are also available. If you'd like one please send me an email to [email protected] with your request. Can i pay by card?
Yes, I am able to take payments from Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and American Express, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Is there anything I should avoid doing after a session?
I simply suggest you don't drink too much alcohol that same day, and that if you've big plans immediately after a session, to keep some energy in reserve. Resting and keeping hydrated would be ideal. Can I bring a chaperone?
Yes, absolutely. Zero Balancing is most effective when you feel safe and if you want to bring a chaperone then you are most welcome to do so. |
